My Little Helper

Nathan has become such a little helper these past few months. It's almost as if he KNOWS i will need him to step up and help me more once the baby is here. He particularly loves to help me load laundry into the dryer. I simply open the dryer door and drop pieces of laundry, one-by-one, onto it where he picks it up, shakes it out, and throws it into the dryer (which is at a perfect height for him!) :) Each time i drop a new article of clothing, etc., he says "tate tou" (which is his "cute" way of saying 'thank you'...he CAN say it correctly, but knows we love him to say it in his baby voice!)....it's too cute! What i end up saying back to him is, "NO, thank YOU!" Then, i'll hand him a fabric softener sheet which he throws in and follows by shutting the dryer door.

Him helping me in this department is totally saving my back, by the way.

Then, there's the vacuuming.....he of course has always loved that!

And now, he is now "mature" enough to understand what he can and can't unload from the dishwasher, and exclaims, "MOMMY, get the the KNIFE!" because he knows he can't touch it.

And of course, he LOVES to run and throw things in the trash for me, like the occasional piece of lint, an outdated magazine, his dirty diaper, a wrapper on the floor from one of David's many Snicker's bars, and any other item that i ask him to. He is so cute scurrying his little bare feet across the floor to the kitchen trash can, so proud of himself for being a big boy! He exclaims after each time he throws something away, "Mommy, I DID IT!" Then, i think to myself, "yes, thank goodness you did, because i am too tired to!"

Why Does Caffiene Have to be So Bad?

i had a tasty lunch today of turkey breast, ritz crackers, and sharp cheddar cheese. i was also craving a soda....a real one, folks - with caffeine and all. So, i indulged in a glass of Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. Bad idea. It just made me want more. Why does caffeine have to be so bad??? How do those 5-cups-a-day people do it when they're pregnant? Do they just give up coffee cold turkey? Surely caffienated soda can't be all that bad every other day or so, right?

There’s No Place Like Home.

Last night was the first night in months (since this preganancy at least) that i actually slept through the night without having to get up and go to the bathroom a million times. I slept so wonderfully!

I really missed my bed and my room....even though visiting Texas was great! Anyway, n8 slept great too....he didn't get up today until 9:30!!

Astros Going to the World Series

Although i am not from Houston, i am nonetheless a Texan and it was pretty exciting here at my mom's place last night when the Houston Astros beat the St. Louis Cardinals for a chance at going to the World Series!

Nathan and i flew through Houston yesterday on our way here to Austin, and if i would have realized all the excitement that was about to take place, i might have just stayed there!!

Anyway we are all thrilled for the Astros and i hope they win it!! :)

My Best Friend is Going to Mexico!

Well, Season has finally decided to take the plunge and the offer from ClubMed to go and work on one of their fabulous resorts in Ixtapa, Mexico. I guess in a way i am secretly jealous!! I mean, no harsh, cold winter? Sunny and hot all year 'round??

While i am so happy for her and excited for her, i am also a little sad. Season was so great to me during my first pregnancy with Nathan. She and i did a lot together and she always treated my like a little princess, not letting me open doors, carry bags or anything else!! :)

I am also going to miss her company during the holidays and it will not be the same at the hospital in April when the baby is born. I know she is going to feel sad about all that too, but i know this is also such a great opportunity for her and she deserves the very best. My only concern is that she is so darn talented and creative, that ClubMed might want her to stay longer!

She'll be leaving on November 1st and won't be back till the 30th of April.....that seems so far away!!!! Nathan will surely miss his fairy Godmother too, but i know we'll keep in touch and send pics, etc. Still, it will be hard not having her here. Maybe my doctor would let me plan a spring break trip there to visit?! One can only hope!!

For the Sprinkling Wee-Wee

I was at Motherhood Maternity today exchanging a shirt and i could NOT BELIEVE what i saw at the check out counter!!! I can't believe someone actually thought of this and is now making money off of it!!!! They sell for $10!!!

Here's the description:

PEE-PEE TEEPEES

Why is it that the act of diaper changing always seems to inspire an extra "contribution" from the little one? Parents of baby boys have been particularly vulnerable - until now. Just place a pee-pee teepee on his wee-wee during diaper changes, and the hazard is averted. An ideal baby shower gift, the five powder blue 100% cotton pee-pee teepees are decorated with airplanes and arrive in a miniature cotton laundry bag. Made in Canada. Machine washable.

N8’s Halloween Costume

Well, nathan and i went shopping for his halloween costume yesterday (finally!). We went to US Toy where the selection was not NEAR as good as it usually is or was promised to be. So, we ended up at Party City which had two costumes that caught his eye. We tried on the Thomas the Tank Engine costume and the Fire Chief costume. Needless to say, n8 looked cute in both, but i left the decision up to him and he chose the Fire Chief (but he calls it the Firefighter costume). So, he will be a cute little Fire Chief. So glad that's out of the way!

Oh, and if you're planning on coming to our house to trick-or-treat to get Snickers, you won't find any....david ate the WHOLE BAG of snack size Snickers i bought! He hasn't touched the M&Ms though! :)

My Little Monchichi

I was thinking about those cute little Monchichi dolls today.

You know, the little monkey dolls that were popular in the 80's? My dad used to call my sister that, as a term of endearment. Today while getting dressed i called n8 a monchichi and he giggled and said "try again?" (which means, do it again, please.) so i kept repeating to him saying "you're a little monchichi" and he loved it!

It's my new pet name for him! :)

I’m Just in that “Fat” Stage!

I am currently just in that "fat" stage of pregnancy. i really wish my belly would just jump out and grow! i put on my brown long sleeved tshirt today and it just "hangs". It looks like i am a sloppy dresser rather than actually pregnant. I also have my great Paris Blues maternity jeans on which i LOVE but i still need a belt so i am not quite "filling them out" yet, which i guess is a good thing. But, i've been eating like a truck driver so don't know what the deal is on not gaining much!

Anyway, i just thought i'd vent on how i wish my belly was bigger or that winter maternity clothes was more form fitting like that of summer maternity clothes. I knew i would hate being pregnant this time of year. I miss my capris and cute belly-hugging tanks. oh well. I'll plan better next time! :)

Pigskin Confusion

N8 and i are watching Texas slaughter OU right now! (:)) and every time he hears me say, "yes, yes, go, go, go!" or something like that, he runs over to the TV and starts clapping and yelling, "yes, yes, go Chiefs!"

Poor kid...we watch so much football he's confused! At least he enjoys watching the sport though!! I would be worried if he didn't take after me and love football so much. And, he's most definitely wearing his burnt orange today - no confusion about that!
