Another convo post.

Background: Nathan was standing over in a corner hunched over just ever so slightly. David lying on the couch watching TV. Me, on the other couch.

Me: "Nathan, are you making poo-poo?" Nathan: "No. I'm just having fun." David & Me: (in complete hysterics)

Friends at the most random of times.

The conversation that ensued after n8 waking up from a nap.

Me: "Are you hungry baby?"

N8: "Yes."

Me: "You want me to make you a peanut butter and jelly?"

N8: "Yes. And Alexander love me!"

Groovy Joovy

N8 and i went out today and purchased the new Joovy stroller i've been wanting for when the baby comes. Here's a pic:

I had originally seen this stroller in red. A friend of mine actually has it, and i thought it would be the perfect piece to tote N8 and N8's brother around in since it's got the neat little platform in the back for a standing or sitting toddler. Babies R Us carries it but only in red. Well, when i found out it came in (Longhorn) Orange, i was on a mission to find the store that had it! After much research, i found out that USA Baby actually has it in the blue and orange. It was also on sale through tomorrow for the same price as the red at BRU. So, naturally, i couldn't pass it up.

What's even better is that i didn't even have to pay for it all at once. USA Baby has a free layaway program so i went in, paid $50 for them to hold one for me and i am going back around the 15th of March to pick it up. I am of course assuming that baby won't be coming that early so i would have no use for the stroller until later anyway.

I should mention that n8 highly approves of both the stroller design and the color. He couldn't stop riding around on it in the store.

Picture this: A (hugely) pregnant lady waiting tables.

That was me tonight. One of our servers got completely swamped with the dinner rush tonight so i had to help out and take a table of 5. It was a cute family with 3 girls. Anyway, after taking their drink and appetizer orders (the mom even ordered a couple of glasses of wine!) i put their order in for the food.

I kept checking on them as a good server should. Well, when i'd finally dropped off their check they were thrilled with the whole meal and dining experience. I thanked them and went back to pick up their credit card receipt and the dude (the dad) had left me a $12 tip!!! I was so excited! They left me 20% (their bill was $60). Anyway, Kelly, one of our other servers, who incidentally sounds like Carrie from King of Queens (a CBS sitcom), sarcastically mentioned that i should "go out and buy myself somethin' nice" (in a very Brooklyn, NY accent).

It was fun. At least i know if this stay-at-home-mommy thing doesn't work out, i could always wait tables if i had to! :)

Nathan’s first real-life sitter.

Yesterday Nathan had his own real-life sitter for the first time, EVER! Chelsea came over at about 6:30 last night to re-aquaint herself with N8. Chelsea is the cousin of my very dear friend, Jen, and she's known Nathan for a while. Actually, they met at Heidi's baby shower which seems like eons ago! (Dang, time flies!)

After giving Chels the rundown of the house, activities, approved snacks, etc. i headed out for Rosary Group over at Erin's. I have to admit all throughout praying the Rosary, my mind would sneak in a prayer intention for n8 and his babysitting adventure. I SO hoped he wasn't tearing the house to pieces or driving Chels so mad that she'd never come back!

I was gone for a couple of hours and when i returned, they were playing with all sorts of toys and, according to Chels, everything had gone extremely well. They had played, fingerpainted, and even had a snack. Nathan kept running around saying, "hey, Miss Chelsea....." it was so cute!

I was relieved. I am so glad we've found a great sitter we can call on that i totally feel comfortable with. More importantly, it's n8 that feels comfortable with her too!

My newest shopping hangout.

Big Lots has officially become my new shopping addiction. After leaving Green Tea today, n8 and i made our way over there to look around because as i was loading him into his carseat, he said (very innocently), "Mommy, let's go shopping!". I immediately replied, "Okay." Big Lots was the closest place around.

We spent like 45 minutes in there just looking around...mostly in the baby aisles! I picked up some Carter's & Gerber things for n8's bro that were oh so cute! It was so fun to be buying size "NB" (newborn) for a change. I'd forgotten how tiny and cute that size really is. Anyway, while n8 was busy playing with rattles that bored him after 5 minutes, i was picking up a few cute baby t-shirts, side-snap shirts, blankets (that will work for warmer weather), knit caps, and onesies. The most expensive thing i bought was $3.99 which was a package of 3 onesies that would normally sell at Target for around $6.99!! I was in heaven!!! Everything is so cute and colorful too, not just the plain ol' white. I also picked up a cute waffle-weave blanket that will be lightweight enough for Spring/Summer for just $2.99!!! N8 has one like this that is almost identical that i got at Target for at least $6!!

So, needless to say, BL has become my new hangout, especially for baby stuff!

Fingerpainting Fun.

After working at Green Tea this afternoon, i came home to a sleeping Nathan. After naptime, we did a little fingerpainting and had SO much fun! N8 was insistent on making a painting for "daddy" so here he is creating his masterpiece:
