Nesting, again.

Well, today i started back at the whole nesting thing. While i was out in the garage waiting for my brother to finish getting ready and come down so we could leave, i started by putting ONE thing away in the garage. Next thing i knew, i was sweeping the garage debris and organzing a bunch of other stuff like N8's wagons, ride-in scooter cars, and paint supplies. Now we actually have a third part to our garage.

I certainly hope that this coupled with the full moon tonight doesn't mean Will's going to make his appearance. I just don't think i am ready. Give me at least till April 1st, please little guy.

I've also started in on organizing my Tupperware cabinet and the boys' closets. I went to Target and stocked up on groceries and cleaning supplies like i was going to be taking shelter in my house before the Plague hits! I guess now would be a good time to clean out my car and install the infant car seat just in case, huh? Oh, and i should also get on the ball by actually packing a bag for the hospital. But i really don't feel like walking all the way to the basement to get the carseat out of storage or putting together an overnight bag.....i am pooped! (FYI-here's a great link for a list of what to take in your bag!)

Week 37 Update!

Today n8, david and i headed out for my weekly appointment to see what progress little Will is making. Heartbeat was good and he is measuring well. I am still dilated 1 cm. and 75% effaced. Dr. R predicts at least another week before we get to meet the little guy. That is certainly fine with me! We'll see....there's still no perfect way to tell when he's going to decide to come, especially since my contractions are a regular thing now, especially at night.

Contractions on the Prowl.

I almost had to wake david up on Saturday night at 2 in the morning. My contractions actually woke me up at about 1:45 a.m. I went to pee then went and sat on the couch in our bedroom for a while to see if the discomfort would subside. It didn't.

I went and laid in bed (next to n8 who was sleeping with us that night) and remembered Dr. R's guidelines....."if the pain is so bad you can't sleep through it, then you know it's time". This was exactly the case with Nathan during the wee hours of the morning on September 10, 2003. So, anyway, i just laid there and prayed it wasn't time yet but that if it was, to just give me a sign and let me get it over with. If it wasn't time then i prayed i'd be able to get a good night's rest that i so desperately needed. The last i remember looking at the clock it was 3:00 a.m.

So we'll see how long this goes on for.

Whew! Made it to 37 weeks!

Okay well, i've made it to 37 weeks....i at least feel somewhat good about that. Will is just busy kicking the heck out of me though...i really think he's running out of room in there!

Today Season came over and we are halfway done with the painting of his room, which looks FABULOUS! I love the "Mesa" color we chose, which is like a warm honey tone. The most agonizing thing about this whole process is that we've only been able to work on it in bits and pieces. We have one large wall and a smaller chunk of another wall left to do then we'll let it dry and i can start putting up the In Flight border!

With any luck this kid's room WILL be done by the time he arrives. Anyway, i am SO thankful for great friends! If it weren't for Season and her mile-long legs to reach the tops and corners of the walls, i KNOW this painting wouldn't have gotten done.

TMI for some people. Read at your own discretion.

Okay, well this afternoon at about 4:30 i lost my mucous plug. Not a huge deal, i know. When i was pregnant with n8 my mom and i recall that i lost my mucous plug about a week before going into labor with him.

This could mean nothing, but then again, it could mean labor is just hours, or even days away. I certainly hope it's at least a week or more away.
I am trying not to stress too much over the whole thing, but i can't help it!! I just want this little guy to be as healthy and developed as possible. I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow.

Home Stretch update

Went for my weekly appointment today to track Will's progress/arrival. I am still dilated a "tight 1" according to the doctor, but i am more effaced, probably closer to 75% or so.

Dr. Ridgway thinks i have at least another 2 weeks or so to go (thank GOD!). I hope more than i ever have before, that she's right.

They’re like little adults now.

Alexander came over to play this afternoon so that Erin could be taken out on a real, live date with her husband, of course, for her birthday next week. After playing for a while, Alexander raced upstairs after barely touching his lunch while N8 wanted to stay and finish his food. Here's the conversation that went down when Nathan was calling for Alexander to come downstairs.

N8 (yelling from the bottom of the stairs): "Alexander?? Come down." A: "No." (in a very non-chalant sort of voice, almost as if to say "nah".) N8: "Alexander, don't chu want to come downstairs and finish your food?" A: "No! Come upstairs, Nathan." N8: "When i'm finished my lunch!"

Seriously, these two crack me up. I wish i had a video camera in every room of the house to follow these two around.

The funniest crap on tv.

"Corporate Accounts Payable, Nina speaking. Just a moment."

My brother is watching Office Space on TV right now and that movie just cracks....me..............UP!!!!!!!!!!

Didn't you get the memo??

I am so annoyed.

So, upon moving all the furniture out of our "blue" room, which is actually going to be Nathan's new room, we noticed there was a spot in the corner that had some carpet lifting and some water damage to it. We called our insurance agent and they sent a contractor out to look at things this afternoon. Turns out, there will need to be some major work on that side of the flooring/outside panel. It will most likely all have to be replaced.

The contractor very nicely suggested that we not continue with any of our "projects" in that room. He could very visibly tell we'd just primed it for new paint. He said whoever does the job for us will actually paint the whole room and we're getting new carpet in there too. So, for the time being, n8's new bedroom set and stuff will go in there but the walls will be primed with white paint. Not good. I hate it. I hate that it's out of my control, really. But, i have to deal with it i guess.

On the brighter side, i no longer have to worry about getting that room done before Will's arrival. I can focus solely on Will's room and painting and getting that room ready with his bedding, etc. I am sure Nathan will think, "man, that kid's not even here yet and i am already getting the crap room that isn't finished!"

Speaking of Will's arrival - had my doctor visit today and am 50% effaced and 1 centimeter dilated. I just know this kid is SO coming early!
