2 weeks old!

Here's a pic with the little and big brothers together taken on Saturday. I can't believe how much they change in just 2 weeks!! As you can see, Nathan has fallen absolutely in LOVE with Will and is such a good big boy helper to me.

Return of the “one-eyed Willy”

While my mom was here we sometimes referred to Will as "one-eyed Willy" because he does this thing sometimes where he looks at you with one eye open and the other shut, as if to say, "whaaat??? can't you all just let me SLEEP??"

Anyway, the term "one-eyed Willy" is not new to our family. A few years ago after my mom's car accident that left her with permanent eye damage, my sister was cruel enough to make up the nickname for my mom since she could only really see out of one eye well at that time. My mom even mentioned the other day that on Mother's Day that year, they got her a big cookie cake that read, "Happy Mother's Day One-Eyed Willy".

Too funny! Cruel, but funny. That's my sister for ya'! :)

Details, Details

William "Will" David was born - FINALLY - on Saturday April 15th at 12:37 a.m. As David put it, he was 37 minutes late! I had went into my doctor's appointment on Friday the 14th at 1:30 and we were rescheduling an induction for the 25th of April and my doctor was going to check to see how dilated i was, etc. and was going to "strip my membranes" when she all of a sudden realized that she'd broke my water bag!! :)

So, david and i looked at each other in shock as she said, "well, nevermind about the 25th, i guess we can send ya over [to the hospital] there right now!" Everything felt weird. I didn't picture it happening like that, but that didn't really matter at that point since it was obviously happening!

So, david took Nathan (who was with us at the appointment) back home to pick up my mom so she could watch nathan. David of course was a little unsettled about me going into labor on a busy Friday night at Green Tea, but oh well!

I walked across the parking lot to the hospital, leaking the whole way, went to the registration desk where they told me they were preparing a L & D room for me.

I finally got put into a room at about 3:00. At that point my contractions weren't that severe so by 4:30 my doctor started the Pitocin to get those contractions kicking in. Labor progressed throughout the evening and before i knew it i was pushing at about midnight. Notice in the pics below that n8 is asleep in the delivery room. Yeah, he slept thru the WHOLE thing! There i was pushing Will out and n8 was sound asleep just feet from me!

I can't believe how much easier labor was this time around...not that it WAS easy, but pushing for 30-40 minutes certainly beats pushing for 4 solid hours making little progress! Once Will was out we were all just so amazed how he looked identical to n8 when he was born! Will came in at 7 pounds, 6.6 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long, and of course had a HEAD FULL OF HAIR! Definitely worth all the Level 2 tear stitches, which i'll take over n8's Level 4 anyday!

I had been so hungry the entire day since i had only eaten 2 cinammon rolls and a glass of milk before what was only supposed to be my doctor appointment earlier that afternoon. So, at 2 in the morning there i am eating a cheesburger that my nurse was nice enough to scrounge up for me after i was all stitched up.

Anyway, i am so grateful to all of you who kept us in your thoughts and prayers. I hope to see all of you really soon! :)

Due date tomorrow, still no baby.

Well, little Will is commanding all of my attention right now. Apparently, he must know that once he comes out he'll have to share me with Nathan. I am convinced that's why he's taking his sweet time.

To help him along, i went grocery shopping, cleaned bathrooms and floors/carpets today as well as am doing laundry. We'll see if this gets contractions going or what!

I am so excited about my new sling that arrived yesterday, along with my mom! I actually ordered it online but since the company is based in Austin, my sis was nice enough to swing by and pick it up after school and work on Tuesday to send it on its way with my mom so i could save the $6 in shipping!

The material is so light and going to be great for poolside this summer. C'mon Will....let's try this thing out!

Will’s Room - finally DONE!

Maybe the kid will come out now that his room is absolutely, positively, completely DONE as of today! :)

I am so thrilled with how it turned out especially since it went from start to finish all in about the past 3 weeks! I had help, of course! Aside from Season, my brother, and David, Nathan was a huge little helper! He loves saying "ooh, mommy, i like William's room!" He kept me company today as i hung the last few things on the wall and finished everything off.

It feels so good to have at least one project done! Here are some pics:

In my spare time i am also a bartender.

Well, no sign of baby yet, but today i tried my hand at bartending. I went to help out at GT since there was a huge party of Red Hat Society ladies coming in for lunch. I was meant to be there to help hostess but ended up mixing drinks too!

I made 2 bloody marys, one frozen Mango martini, and a lemon drop martini. I also poured a couple glasses of wine for people. I am happy to report that ALL of the drinks were finished and received compliments!

It was a lot of fun. I can only imagine how hilarious it looked with my big pregnant belly behind the bar slinging drinks around. It took everything i had for me not to try the mango martini!! YUM!

Will’s not even born yet and he’s already obeying me!

My sister pointed this out since i've made it to April, which is what i wanted (diamonds for a birthstone!!)

Anyway, it appears he's obeying me a little too well. I am still only dilated at 1.5 and 75% or so effaced. Hopefully he'll come this weekend or on Tuesday...both times are when my doctor is on call. Just in case though, we scheduled an induction on the 17th since that's the last day my doctor will be around until the end of the month or so. David thinks it will be this weekend.

i have given up trying to guess when this little guy is coming around. His head is definitely nice and LOWWWW though! I still have a few minor things to finish up but i am having so much fun looking at all his little clothes hanging in the closet and thinking about holding a small little baby again! I am so excited for Nathan too!

This afternoon at my doctor appt. when we listened to Will's heartbeat dr. R asked him if he heard it and he replied, "yeah, it's kinda like Polar Express!" We cracked UP!!
