Love them beans!

Nathan and I had fun filling he and Will's Jelly Belly Bean machine this evening. They got it for Christmas, but in a way I sort of got it with myself in mind too. We also sampled several of the flavors while we worked. Dr. Pepper was my fave and I think Nathan sampled the Green Apple and the Bubble Gum.

It was all fun and games until we actually arrived.

So, in our traditional Saturday (a.k.a. Family Day) tradition, we decided to try a great place for lunch. Or so we thought. David and I decided to finally take Nathan and Will to experience T-Rex, which is based on basically the same theme as Rainforest Cafe, only with dinosaurs and other prehistoric animale.

Anyway, we'd talked it up all morning and Nathan of course was skeptical even uttering, "I - will - cry" when I was trying to encourage him to at least check it out when we got there. I should've taken his words as a warning though.

We got like 50 feet from the place and when he saw those dinosaur bones on the outside of the building, he all but made a beeline for the parking garage. It took some coaxing but we finally made it inside and he began to cry and cover his ears from all of the dinosaur roars and rainstorms, etc. that were going on.

Here's what greets you the second you enter in the door:

Not to mention the fiftybazillion people that were there at the noon hour getting on the fifty minute waiting list. Yes, that is 5-0 (fifty, not fifteen)!

We headed right over to the shopping area with our pager in hand and checked out the digging area which Nate seemed to dig (he, he, he...no pun intended!)

Then we made our way over to the screens located throughout and played a few of the interactive games, which he also seemed to enjoy.

While he was there with David, I took Will over to the gemstone area to take a peep. I ran into my own birthstone (Amethyst) quite a few times and thought they were really pretty!

Too bad I don't really dig the color purple - unless it's the movie we're talking about. But, it was still pretty to look at.

We made our way up the stairs to the woolly mammoth area and a gracious diner offered to take our pic.

Then we went back downstairs to see if we'd moved up on the waitlist any and that's where I noticed these cuties!

Finally we get seated and as our "guide" is taking us to our seats, and I see the Triceratops up ahead, I am thinking oh crap Nathan's really going to wail! Luckily for us though there was a waterfall just to the left of our table. But the bad news is that the other side of our table bumped up against these:

Well, we sat through lunch - whatever - it could've gone better; could've gone worse. Either way we all walked out alive and headed across the walkway to Cold Stone right afterwards so all was good.

My little picture taker.

Nathan took this pic of Will the other day. I really should get the kid his own real camera. He loves taking pics as much as I do and even knows how to review the memory stick and change some of the settings.

Anyway, I thought it was too cute to keep to myself.

Updates are here.

Okay peeps, for those of you who care (or don't), I've updated re: Christmas 2006. Scroll down to see everything or just disregard this post if you don't care to. It's mostly just for my journaling and record-keeping anyhow.

My Post-Christmas find.

I thought this was a MAJOR score when I saw it at Target so I decided to get it. It was all packaged beautifully in a gift box so I decided to gift it to myself. All this great tasting stuff for seven bucks and change??!! I was all over it!

We used to live 15 minutes from Knott's Berry Farm when David and I lived in Cali and I love their stuff!

I can't wait to sample all the jams and make the pancakes and biscuits! I've never even knew there was Boysenberry syrup!

I can’t type.

My space bar is sticking and it's irritating me. I am too lazy to run downstairs and grab the compressed air shooter-thingy to spray the keyboard with.

RB - WPL.

REALLY BUSY - WILL POST LATER.

Movie date.

Today Nathan and I went to see Charlotte's Web and it was so nice to just have some time with him.

We of course polished off a bag of popcorn and a bag of gummy bears together. We both enjoyed the film. Nathan had been looking forward to it since he's been playing the games on the movie's website for a while now.

Then later that night at home he told me,

"Mommy, you are so gorgeous."

That's my Nate . . . a true gent.

Christmas 2006

Check out the loot we woke up to:

Nathan was so shocked. Heck, I was so shocked! Of course the first thing that runs through my mind is "where are we going to put all of this stuff?" I guess we'll be having a SERIOUS garage sale come Spring.

Quite honestly, we could've stopped at the stockings. Those suckers were filled to the brim. So much so that Nathan's took a nose-dive and landed almost in the fireplace. My mom saved it.

Will enjoying his stacking cups and all the other goodies in the stocking.

Nathan was trying to take it all in. I think he was overwhelmed by the Cars. I told him Santa was a BIG fan of the movie and wanted him to have every one of them! He just kept saying, "open this one! open this one!"

Will was certainly overwhelmed. He spent most of the time just eating the wrapping paper. Occasionally he'd play with one or more of his gifts as they were being opened for him.

David and Nate opening their Ms. Pac-Man & Galaga video game together. It was a huge score for them.

IT WAS A CARS CHRISTMAS HERE.

In addition to this super cool table and chairs set from Grammy, Nathan received the Mack Truck Bachelor Pad Playset, a Cars Bean Bag Toss game, about a dozen different Cars, and a new Lightning McQueen poster.

Grammy and the boys.

One of the most popular toys around here has been Will's new Busy Ball Bopper. Don't know why but Nathan is so fascinated by it! We all are, quite frankly. I am sure it'll be one of those toys we NEVER get rid of!

Will also got a cute monkey stuffed animal chair. It had been a long day by the time I got around to trying to get him to sit in it for any length of time.

We also played with Nate's great Motor Works set, which is a great toy!

The boys also received countless games, clothes, jackets, more toys, etc. By the end of the evening there were still several things we hadn't even played with or opened yet.

I'd upload more pics but they're all on my mom's memory card which I forgot to dump onto my computer before she left town, so it'll have to wait till she can email them to me.

It was a great Christmas even despite the paper-eating fiascos.

Christmas Eve with Ahma.

David's mom (Nate & Will's "Ahma") came by tonight to do the presents thing with everyone. Will was asleep for the festivities but Nathan was more than willing to open his gifts.

The most ADORABLE chocolate brown cordouroy blazer! I fell so in love with it I almost wanted him to wear it to bed!
(Yes, that's chocolate on his bottom lip - details below.)

Then came the part where David's mom really went all out. She spoils Nathan with only the finest. Godiva's white chocolate raspberry filled stars are Nathan's fave candy. He got a whole boxful of them too.

We ended up saving Will's gifts for Christmas morning since the big dude decided not to wake despite all the noise!
