Ga-ga over Google.

I just realized today what a Google girl I really am.  I not only use Google as the final forwarding destination for ALL of my bazillion email accounts, but love their Beta Video, Google Earth, Google Maps, calendar, photos, and groups. I've also had a Google Ads account for a website community I created for moms some time ago.

Oh yeah, and not to mention their search engine features which I guess started the whole thing.  Google's freakin' amazing!

He’s such a mover and a groover.

Just another sign he’s on his way to big boy status.

Ooblik

Nathan checked out some science experiment books a while back at the library and we've been delving into them lately with all of this rainy weather.  On Monday we finally made some Ooblik, which was really just a science recipe of cornstarch and colored water.  It was fun feeling it though and it was hard to tell if it was a liquid or a solid at times.

Will & Daddy

I just love this picture I snapped at the park last weekend.  Handsome guys.

Was he really being considerate or just sly?

After lunch today David went to get a haircut.  When Nathan saw that Jim (the barber) was finishing up with David, Nathan walked over and politely asked him,

"Excuse me, can Daddy have a lollipop?"

He's obviously used to getting one after his haircut so it's only natural for him to assume Daddy gets one, too.  Of course Jim obliged and even let Nathan pick out his Daddy's lollipop.  He picked out a grape one and handed it right over.  After we'd all gotten into the car David handed N8 the lollipop to him in the backseat and Nathan of course was in shock replying,
"No Daddy, it's YOUR lollipop!"

David of course told him that he could actually have it since he didn't want it.  Nathan put up a small fight but then finally conceded the yes, indeed, he wanted it.  The licking then ensued.

A little Spring in my step.

I am inspired with the great weather to actually get stuff done around here!! Why is it that sunshine brings out the organizing demons out in me?  Anyway, I am having fun browsing online for cool gadgets and supplies to get myself organized and get some fresh air running through my house again.  In fact, yesterday afternoon while N8 was napping I spent a couple of hours scrubbing all of my kitchen cabinets and the window and blinds above the sink.  White cabinets are so lovely and bright but a chore to really keep clean and tidy.  It was fun, I must say, standing back to admire my work.  A little at a time is all I can really do with two kiddos running around here.

Birthday Wishes!

Here's a Happy Birthday shout-out to my dear friend, Erin.  You're officially 29 forever now!  To say that I'm blessed to have you as my friend is an understatement.   You've been such a great friend and person that I can confide in and your friendship means a great deal to me.  You inspire me in so many ways and I think the world of you!  I look forward to the many more years we have together as friends and to seeing all  FOUR of our boys grow up together.  I pray that this year is a great one for you.

Sudden interest

Nathan has over the past few months gained an interest in the author of books that he reads.  When we sit down to read together he always asks me,

"Mommy, read the author."

after reading the title but before starting in on the book.  Thanks, Grammy, for starting such a wonderful tradition with him!

I guess I’ve got the luck of the Irish today, even though I’m not Irish.

I've finally got my voice semi-back. It actually does sound like a raspier version of Demi.  Oh well...at least it's moving in the right direction and I no longer have to whisper to my kids.

Today's been great.  I started out sleeping in till about 9 and then headed down to make breakfast for N8 and Will.  Afterwards we hung out, watched some of the parade on TV, played, read, etc.  Then David and I got showered and dressed and we all went out for lunch at Elephant Bar - yum!  We had the artichoke dip and then David and I split a huge brownie sundae after our entree while N8 enjoyed his kids meal strawberry sundae.  Will of course, ate everything he was offered and then some.

Then it was time for me to get a long overdue haircut which went very well.  I've got a new gal doing my hair now and she's so cute, bubbly, and terrific! LOVE THAT!

I think we'll go outside to play a bit while laundry is finishing up and since it's so nice out!  Nathan's the only one that wore any bit of green today (by accident) so I guess that's why Will hasn't let up on his pinching.
