Looks like Bush isn’t the ONLY embarassment to our country.

Sick kiddos are no fun.

Well, Nathan is doing a little better today.  Aside from blowing chunks while we were in line at Sweet Tomatoes, he's been able to keep down some yogurt, banana, and Pedialyte.  I think he's on the slow road to recovery.  He's gotten a little more energy back this afternoon and had fun playing outside with Grammy.  The practiced frisbee (since Nathan had to miss his last class at the Little Gym this afternoon) and watered the growing strawberries.

Will has also been suffering with his bout of the runs, but luckily no vomiting and he's still eating everything in sight.  So, aside from Lysol-ing everything in sight and cleaning like a madwoman, what else is there to do? We just have to wait it out.

Some Kindermusik fun.

Will wrapped up his second semester of KM last Thursday.  Since N8 is out of school for summer, he of course came along with us.  I seized the opportunity to get some pics of Will in his class since I'd not done so before.

He loves his baby bells.  He actually loves to chew on them as well.  I guess if I were working on molars, I'd wanna put those things in my mouth too.

"Shake, shake, shake...shake your booty shakers!"  Yeah what you don't see is that moments later, he lauches those suckers like missiles.  We've got to work on the whole "no throwing" issue.

Rolling the shakers is just as much fun as shaking and eating them.

Nathan and his best buddy, Alexander.  These two have grown so much but yet they're still little silly boys.

Krispy Kreme tour.

Last week a group of us visited the Krispy Kreme to see how they make doughnuts.  Afterwards, they gave everyone a free one!  There were way too many kids there and as such was too crowded but it definitely was worth it for the freebie.

Gotta love those sprinkles.

The King is missing, but it could be worse.

The other night Nathan and I made a desperate attempt at making sure we accounted for all of his cars.  We've collected so many I've forgotten which ones we have.

Anyway, we'd lined them up and classified them by color before but there were fewer then.  Can you tell what Nathan's favorite color is?

Oh yeah and we discovered that the King from the Cars movie is missing from the collection.  I bet Will stuck him in a hole somewhere.  We'll find it, though.  I am certainly bound and determined.

UGH! Update to the no-blogedness.

Nathan is sick.  He must have a stomach bug.  He's vomited twice since this afternoon and has a 101 temp.  We're trying to keep ice chips down for a few hours and then we'll see what the doc says.  My poor baby.

So freakin’ busy.

I have tons going on so blogging has taken a backseat.  Here are some of the goings-on:

  • enjoying my mom visiting this weekend

  • baking yummy banana bread

  • doing yardwork

  • cleaning house and rearranging stuff

  • trying to get Nathan's busy summer schedule arranged

  • sidewalk chalk (actually, driveway chalk)

  • laundry, laundry, oh yeah, and did I mention laundry?

  • working on my latest website idea - just for fun

I'll be blogging some soon, hopefully by tonight.

Everyone benefits from the Sam’s Club membership.

Nathan has started to really get into these frequent Sam's Club trips that have become routine for us.  Today after Will took his early afternoon nap, I corralled both boys into the car and we headed out to pick up a few essentials.

It is so hard to not spend every last dime in that place! I mean, you can never have enough $9.88 Tommy Hilfiger striped flip-flops or industrial sized Welch's grape juice bottles.  Anyway, Nathan's particularly fond of two things at Sam's:

  1. The double seats in the front of the basket.  He loves sitting side-by-side with Will and being all touchy feely and cute with his baby brother.

  2. The cookies.  Yes, the free cookies they have just sitting out calling your name over by the bakery.

Hey, I had to get bread anyway so N8 seized the opportunity to point out the cookies.  I guess he remembered from our last Sam's trip.  N8 had the M&M and Will had the sugar.  Well, actually we had the sugar.  That's a great thing about kids - you can use them as an excuse to munch on kiddie-freebie items in the store.

So after heading out with some cheddar, a pineapple, some o.j., Pom & Lemonade juice, bread, eggs, and a french loaf, we headed out.  Yep, that was our excitement for today.  But there's always tomorrow......

A whole new meaning to going green.

Well, it was another fabulous day here at the MP household.  After enjoying a thoroughly filling lunch at Red Robin we took the kiddos to see Shrek the Third since Nathan's nap schedule made us miss the sneak preview we had free passes to a few weeks ago.

We actually hadn't been to RR in a long while.  It didn't take me long to remember why I love it so much there.  It's noisy enough to drown my kiddos out and there's a lot going on in that place.  Plus, I like the fact that our server always brings us (upon request, of course) our steak fries early along with some yummy Ranch dressing for dipping!

Anyway, it was Will's first movie and it was perfect timing going at 2 pm!  After chowing on a bit of popcorn through the previews he nursed for a few minutes and then was fast asleep till the movie's end.  I guess N8 and actually can let him accompany us this summer at the movies.  The super green-filled flick was really good and we all shared a lot of laughs.  Nathan had been especially excited to see the Gingerbread Man's "gumdrop poopdots" as he calls them.  Don't ask - it was just funny.

Afterwards we picked up some smoky ribs for dinner.  We came home, let Nathan nap and just lounged.  The ribs turned out delish by the way....not bad for $9.99 for a full rack! It's turned out to be a pretty good Saturday after all - not that I expected otherwise.

Could this day get any better?

Today's been an all around great day.  After chompin' on a quick breakfast this morning the boys and I headed out for a walk (something we've been doin a lot of lately) over to my friend Karen's house (who lives just on the street behind us) to pick up a bible study book I needed to get from her.  Afterwards we headed over to the teacher supply store for a game that Nathan's been wanting to buy since he played it this past week at Alexander's.  It's the Rush Hour, Jr. game and he's been having a ball with it just as I suspected.

Since we were in the same shopping center, I decided we'd go and take a looksie at the new Beach Bums Island place that opened up a couple of months ago.  I must say I was quite excited that it's so close to our house! It's a great alternative to Chuck E. Cheese's.  After making your way from the entrance to the dining area via a rock-like tunnel, you see the HUGE screen on the wall where they play their own signature cartoon while diners chow down and then there's a nice sized arcade/game playing room complete with token-eating ski ball, Pac-Man, and other fun things.  Nathan of course wanted to stay for lunch but I told him we'd come back with Daddy sometime soon.

Then we headed back on our walk home.  When we reached our front yard I pointed out a sweet little butterfly that was making its way around our grass.  Nathan and I sat out in the front yard just playing with it and watching it as it fluttered about.  We even were able to touch its cute, tiny white wings without it trying to escape.  After a few minutes Nathan finally said bye to it and we walked inside the house.

Then it was of course time to start playing his new game.  He sat playing that game for a while so I could put Will down for a nap.  After playing for about an hour it was time to head outside again.  N8 helped me trim some of the hedges out back as well as the rosebush. He was so sweet.....making sure to pick a rose out for each of us!  We came back inside and then sat down for lunch - finally!  Dude, I was so starving!

Will woke up shortly after I sat down to eat (of course) so I brought him down for a bite and we just had a great time talking about our day thus far.  I then cut into a nicely chilled pineapple I'd bought earlier in the week and we munched on that.  David came home shortly after we'd started our pineapple binge and I am now sipping on some frozen pina coladas that he whipped up for the two of us, putting those bartending skills to good use.  Man, I haven't had alcohol since my sister graduated almost a year ago!  I'm eagerly awaiting the steak and baked potato dinner he's cookin' up tonight! Mmmmm!

Dessert should round out this day pretty well.
