Many of us know someone who has been personally affected by breast cancer. For me, that person is my maternal aunt. But she's not merely another statistic, rather she's a survivor! I know that her winning the battle has a lot to do with early detection. Did you know the earlier breast cancer is detected, the higher the survival rate? In fact, according to the National Cancer Institute, when detected during the early (localized) stage – the five year survival rate is 98 percent. Those are great odds!
