Candy, I can totally relate to your story. My grandmother Micaela, now in her late 90s, is Mrs. Novelas. Whether she intended to or not, my grandmother is a huge reason why I know as much about Spanish-language TV as I do and it's definitely helped me in my career. You never know what watching novelas can lead to in life :-)

Manny, Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment! I LOVE receiving your daily PR e-newsletters and am a BIG fan!! I'm honored you commented on my post. And yes, you are right about the Novelas! It's funny how as kids we don't really see the "big picture" of how many of the small things in life will affect us later but as an adult it's all so clear! I'm grateful for those life experiences that my heritage has allowed me to have!

Good luck and may I say that the women in your family are obviously very beautiful.

Hey Candy! I loved your story! I wish Katie & I had the opprtunity to have such wonderful grandmother stories & memories! But, since we both have children, by the grace of God, we'll be able to create that for our grandchildren! Thanks for sharing! I'll be praying & voting for you everyday!
