This past weekend marked the end of both of our oldest boys' baseball seasons. My oldest will be playing fall baseball with his team this fall, but for my younger guy, he won't see these baseball cleats till about March next year.
Both of them played in a tournament this past weekend and while William's team didn't make it to the championship game, I am so proud to report that my sweet Nathan's team took home the GOLD! That's right, they are champs!
He and a few of his teammates were subs on a team that they have lots of school friends on. It was very cool to see them all play so well together and, in the end, pull out the win for the championship!
It was a great weekend for baseball and yeah, it was a little bittersweet for me today as put away the diamond-dusted cleats and laundered the jerseys, pants, and socks for the last time this season. But don't worry, we're not really all that sad around here! Because we all know that the end of baseball season means the beginning of football season is just around the corner!
.....And someone can't wait! Oh yeah, baby, it's almost time! Football is hands-down my fave sport and although I enjoy basking in the summer heat, nothing beats a cool, crisp fall day with some little league pigskin. And this year I am SOOOO excited that both of my footballing boys will be in tackle. Personally, I'm a bit bored with flag football - so glad to be done with that!
Here's to another great upcoming season of some FOOTBALL! Who's ready? Me? I was BORN ready.
