Every year I struggle with how to display all of the beautiful Christmas cards we receive from our family and friends. After much searching, I finally think I've got something we can use year after year! Last Sunday, while watching our usual football games, the boys and I got in some craft time and we put together these magnetic Christmas card holders, that can also double as ornaments. They were super easy with the kit I picked up at Target and they came out CA-UTE, too!
Here's how it went down:
Target recently had their packages of holiday craft kits for 50% off - just for one day - so I decided to snag up a few packages of these clothespin Christmas ornaments.
They retail for $3 and come with enough supplies to make 10 ornaments in each pack. But, since I had their Cartwheel offer for that day {do you use Cartwheel?? I am addicted!}, they were 50% off so I got each pack for just $1.50! I wasn't sure at the time that I'd end up using them as a Christmas card holder craft, but I knew with the kids getting out for holiday break, that either way, we would end up having fun with them.
The kids were surprisingly happy to take a break from weekend video games and get to crafting. Each clothespin ornament craft package came with all the supplies, including the clothespins, foam shapes, and decorations. They were easy enough for little hands, too which is nice so that my Jacob could feel a sense of accomplishment.
When they were all done, I decided to bring out a couple of these sheets of magnetic adhesive I've had forever to see if I might be able to make these sweet clothespin ornaments magnetic.
Sure enough, it worked! I cut small, thin strips of magnetic adhesive and placed it on the back of each clothespin ornament. I was excited at the thought of finally having a great way to display all of our Christmas cards!
I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how they turned out! Not only are these cute little magnetic clothespin ornaments made by my kids {which makes my heart smile!}, but they are a great way to hold and display all of our wonderfully gorgeous Christmas cards now! I just LOVE how the inside of our front door looks with them all nicely displayed and that we get to enjoy seeing them multiple times a day as we walk by.
Your turn: How do you display your Chistmas cards each year?
