One of the coolest things about prescshoolers is the fact that they begin to gain so much independence when it comes to learning just about anything. They want to experiment and try new things everyday. I know my preschooler, Jacob, makes me laugh and leaves me in wonderment almost daily about the things he discovers. He is truly excited about EVERYTHING! And, lately, much of his excitement has been because of our new online discovery: PEEP and the Big Wide World is an amazing digital hub that is packed full of learning resources, games and ideas to keep your preschool busy and amazed constantly. What's even better than that? It's now in bilingual form, too. Yep that's right, you can catch it PEEP and the Big Wide World in Spanish (Espanol) from right here.
Recently, Jacob and I have spend a LOT of time learning about and practicing sorting. Kids are such natural born collectors, and I love seeing how excited he is about sorting just about everything from his collection of cars and trucks, to pinecones and leaves! PEEP has an awesome collection themselves - some great info and activities on just sorting alone can be found here.
What makes Peep & the Big Wide World so great is that it helps preschoolers develop science inquiry skills in fun and creative ways by observing, making predictions, and problem solving in the world around them.
Grow-ups and kids will love its narration by comedian Joan Cusack, who is the series' star - a wide-eyed chicken named Peep. Other characters in the program include a robin named Chirp, and an irascible, endearing duck named Quack that live in a large urban park—a place of endless wonder, adventure, and mystery. It's the perfect backdrop for learning science and math concepts each and every day!
The brand new bilingual Peep & the Big Wide World website launched on November 3, 2014. It features one-of-a-kind materials are available in both English and Spanish. PEEP is the newest bi-lingual multi-platform project designed to teach kids important science exploration skills. Moms, you'll also love the mobile-friendly digital hub which features fun activities that engage children in the subjects of math and science.
