Once you have kids, there is never enough time in a day to do all the things you want to do. As a result, the “important yet not essential” stuff is shelved for a later date. Exercise often falls into this category. Working out is a nice idea, but it isn’t feasible when you’ve got to get the kids to practice, cook dinner, and clean the house.
The problem with shunning exercise is weight gain. And, to look good is to feel good which is why it can impact your self-esteem. You might think being a busy and fit mom isn’t doable, yet you’d be wrong.
Check out these tips underneath to find out more.
Start Earlier
There aren’t enough hours in the day because you’re not waking up early enough. Yes, sleep is essential, but it’s not hard to get seven or eight hours and hit the alarm at 5:30 am in the morning. All you need to do is to go to sleep an hour before your regular bedtime. Waking up before the chaos kicks off means you have time to work out interrupted. That way, you’re not hoping for a time slot to magically appear in the middle of the afternoon or at night.
Incorporate The Kids
20% - that’s the percentage of kids that suffer from childhood obesity in the USA. It’s no surprise that children need to exercise too, and you can use that to your advantage. If your kids are old enough, encourage them to play and burn off their energy by getting involved. You can organize a game of soccer in the garden or chase them around for thirty minutes. It’s amazing how many calories these activities burn. For small children, put them in a buggy and go for a stroll. Walking is an incredible form of exercise as it’s low-intensity and burns fat stores instead of carbohydrates.
Eat At The Correct Time
Conventional wisdom dictates you should eat when you’re hungry, yet this is a bad idea. All it does it encourage you to consume extra calories and put on weight rather than lose it. As well as exercising, the key to becoming part of the healthy moms club is to eat at the right time of day. For example, leave it until later on if you’re going to exercise in the morning. There are plenty of glycogens to use as energy. Or, wait until the late afternoon if you struggle to avoid snacking between lunch and dinner.
Stay At Home
There’s no reason to leave the house to exercise. With a workout video and a quiet place to focus, you can burn calories in the comfort of your home. Why is this smart? It’s because the prospect of going to the gym is unappealing. You know you should yet you can’t be bothered and find an excuse. When you only need to walk into a separate room, it’s not as easy to flake on your health responsibilities.
Now you can be a busy mom and a fit mom too!
