There are certain areas of any home that require more focus than others, and if we are honest some of those rooms can cost more than others to renovate. This is why it is important to share with you some of the areas in your home that you can focus on to make a house a home. Interested? Read on to find out how you can do it.
The kitchen
When it comes to a kitchen there are things you can do instead of needing to renovate it completely. You can make small and significant changes that can add some spark back to any dreary worktop, cupboards and unit. One of the first things to consider would be to just replace the doors. More often than not a kitchen carcass is in good working order and to modernize a room it is purely what you see. So replacing the cupboard doors is an excellent way to add some spark back to the room. Other things to think about would be the smaller details. Things like repairing built in appliances instead of replacing them, this is when having a decent appliance repair expert in to sort things out. You could replace the sink, even think about painting the walls. Often even replacing appliances on show to more modern ones can make a kitchen feel newer than it actually is. There is plenty that can be done on a budget, as well as renovating completely, but often the kitchen is a huge focus when it comes to a property.
The bathroom
The bathroom is another expensive job to take on, but often smaller changes can be the only difference you need to make. Think about the accessories you use first of all, especially if the bathroom suite is in good condition. Simply adding new taps once again, some trinkets and a towel set can often be enough to make a bathroom appear new. Not to mention a decent industrial clean. But you could also think about other more significant changes that still won’t break the bank. A new floor perhaps or lighting, maybe even consider painting the tiles instead of replacing them.
The living space
A living area is one room we can all spend a lot of time, but while it may seem like a simple renovation task to take on, before you know it the costs can still spiral out of control. Often with these sorts of rooms a fresh lick of paint is an ideal way to bring some life back into any space. Adding feature walls can make a huge difference to how warm or cool a room feels, as well as the choice of color pallette. You could also think about soft furnishings and the way you style up the living space.
The bedroom
The last room to think about would be the bedroom, and again small things like the living room can make an impact. For example, replacing certain bedroom furniture. This can make a big difference to the room. You may also want to think about newer soft furnishings, a change of bedspread and add some lovely accessories to match in with a theme or color. Finally, change the wall color and again consider a feature wall. A lovely touch to think about would be a photograph montage on a wall, where you can add some of your favorite snaps. The options are endless but the bedroom does not need to be a forgotten room.
Let’s hope these tips help you to update your home.
