Spring may feel so far away in this chilly weather, but it’s still looming on the horizon. We need to get our homes ready or spring, and that means that the infamous spring cleaning needs to begin. So, with that in mind, let’s talk about five household jobs that need to be done before the spring sets in and the sun comes up!
-
The first job to do is getting the lawn mowed both at the front and the back of the house. The lawn is coming out, and the flowers are going to grow, and the best thing to do is get the whole thing cut. The summer may well be looking to be a hot one, and if that’s the case, you need to consider how your garden is going to look. Cut back the grass and judge how much you cut based on the next few months.

It’s time to call out the repairman and get your appliances MOT’d. You may not have considered it before, but you may need replacement parts for Kenmore fridge in the garage, and so you should check out all of your appliances just in case. Upgrading these in time for spring will make them more efficient! If they don't need fixing, give them a deep clean with the right cleaning materials!
-
Get out the power washer and clean the driveway. It would help if you made an entrance with your home: it’s the first thing that people see when they walk toward your house. A clean driveway can make a big difference in the way that people view your home, so don’t skimp out on washing the grooves of every brick that makes up the drive.

Decluttering the house is the smartest idea that you could indulge in for the spring months. There’s no use spring cleaning if you have mountains of stuff everywhere. If you have a lot of bulky items, hire in a skip and get rid of it all. You need to clean up and fill the skip, and the professionals will take it away for you!

Give your house alarms the once over. From the fire alarm to the carbon monoxide alarm to the security alarms, your home needs to be inspected, and any batteries changed. The best thing to do is to check them all, and if you need to, the fire dept can come out and check the smoke alarms for you. The alarms of your home are one place that you really don’t want to miss out on. Something as simple as changing the batteries can make a big difference to the safety of your house!
The spring is going to creep up on us all really quickly, and the best thing that you could do is ensure that you are ready for the changes it brings. The guttering and the roof tiles need a look over, but that’s a whole other list of jobs to do! These jobs should be the top of the list!
