Sometimes, the best thing about living in a tight community is the street parties and community fun you can have. Getting together as a community is far harder because of COVID-19, but that doesn't mean that you cannot have fun with a street party that you all plan together. Socially-distanced street parties are the answer to the Coronavirus pandemic. You can still get together, you can still have fun, but you do it across the street where you’re all able to find some space for distance!

Everyone brings a dish, a jug, a game - the community comes together as a family and you all get to have enormous fun together. - Invite Everyone. You are having a street party, which means that you need to invite the whole street. It doesn't matter if you don't know everyone, or if you had a run in with an elderly neighbour once - invite them anyway. A lot of people may not want to come, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't invite them. Street parties bring people together and while you can’t force people to attend, you can be neighbourly and make sure everyone feels included.
- Start A Facebook Group. Most people are online now, and starting a group online will allow you to reach out and connect with people on another level. You can even organise who brings the decorations, the food and the music to what will be the best party of the year.
- Seek Out Permits. Did you know that you need to have a permit before you can hold a street party? A permit just means that you are registering your intentions and can get some help with ensuring that your road is closed on the day. - Get A Liquor License. You can’t always drink in public without a license, but you can ask your local council about it. They will be able to tell you whether you are allowed to bring alcohol to your street party or not.
