First impressions are very important, especially if you are looking to sell something. If you are selling your home, you do not want any potential buyer put off before they even enter your house. If you want a home that oozes that wow factor, then you need to start with the exterior. A lot of people neglect the exterior while concentrating on the interior decor, and although this clearly needs to be done too, you should regard the front exterior as if it were an extra room. It is the setting of the house and will give people a sense and feel of the home, and it needs to match to be on to a winner.
The Doors
The front door and the garage are generally the doors on show from the curb, so ensure that these give off the right feel. Could your front door do with a lick of paint? Does it need to be replaced completely? A potential buyer will look at the front door and probably feel it to open or close it. If it feels as if it is flimsy and insecure, that does not bode well for the rest of the house. You will have undermined the home's attempt at quality. So, if you need to get s new front door. The garage door also needs to be well presented. Perhaps it is time you got that nearby garage door service. The doors are very important to the overall feel of the house, so ensure they look the part.
A Paint Job
Over time homes become weathered, and paintwork needs to be updated. It is amazing how much paint can re-liven up a tired-looking home. Do your entire exterior walls need a new coat of paint? What about the window sills and borders? Take a look at some new designs for color schemes. Perhaps the colors you are using at the moment are outdated, and something else is far more popular these days.
Driveways, Paving, and Paths
Most houses have at least one of the above. So think about whether your paved areas need a bit of weed killer. If your driveway is looking very dull, then maybe you need to get a pressure washer to remove off all the dirt and grime and bring it back to life. It may be an idea to have a new path installed if the paved area is particularly broken up. Fixing it is difficult to achieve, although not impossible.
The Garden
A luscious green garden is very attractive and can make someone turn their head, especially if it is lined with a pretty flowered border. However, gardens can take a lot of work. You will need a mower, strimmer, shears, weed killer, and probably some grass seed to ensure that the entire garden is uniform. You will also have to invest a fair bit of time in the upkeep. But it is well worth the time it takes if you are looking to sell. A well-kempt garden simply exudes that sense of care and consideration.
